The AI marketing glossary.
The recurring terms, explained simply.

AI-assisted marketing has its own vocabulary, and every tool gives it a different meaning. This glossary gives a simple definition of each term, and clarifies what it concretely means in BAM.

Talking strategy

What is positioning?

BAM proposes your positioning from your brief and the automatically generated market study. It clarifies who your offer is for, the problem it helps solve, what it promises and what sets it apart from other solutions. You can adjust and approve it before using it as the reference for your messages, content and campaigns.

What is a persona?

The typical portrait of one of your clients: their situation, goals, blockers, objections. You never talk to "everyone"; you write for a precise persona. BAM identifies several personas in the market study generated from your brief, and offers them as targets for each piece of content.

What is a value proposition?

The one-sentence answer to "why choose you?": the problem you solve, for whom, and what makes you preferable to the alternatives. It is the backbone of your pitch and your messages.

What is a message axis?

The common thread of a series of communications: an angle you decline into posts, articles or campaigns instead of starting from scratch for each piece. Your BAM strategy document proposes several, prioritized.

What is a brief?

The starting point of any marketing work: what you want to achieve, for whom, in what context and with what constraints. Your brief is enough to start, even imperfect: BAM turns it into a market study, personas, positioning and first recommendations. You keep the final say on every element.

The BAM vocabulary

What is the BAM market study?

You do not need to have already done your market study. From your brief, BAM generates one: it analyzes your offer, your potential clients and their needs, the competitors and the differentiation opportunities. These elements then feed the proposal of your positioning and personas. You review, adjust and approve. The full chain: brief, market study, positioning, messages, content.

What is the strategic corpus?

The structured body of knowledge of your project: market study, positioning, personas, messages, tone. It is the raw material every BAM agent consults before producing. See the guide The strategic corpus.

What is a brand memory?

What the platform durably remembers about your brand and your decisions: positioning choices, tone preferences, facts about your business. In BAM, this memory grows across your conversations, and you can consult and correct it at any time.

What is a marketing system?

The opposite of a series of isolated pieces of content: a strategy, messages and content that feed each other and stay coherent over time. It is what BAM builds from your brief. See the guide Prompt vs system.

What is an approvable campaign?

A campaign presented so that a human can verify and approve it before publishing: goals, messages, adaptations and sources all visible. In BAM, every creation goes through an explicit validation, with its cost displayed.

What is an elevator pitch?

Your offer presented in a few sentences, clear enough to convince within the duration of an elevator ride. It is BAM's first production on a new project, before the full market study.

AI applied to marketing

What is an AI agent?

A program that uses AI to accomplish a precise mission in several steps: consulting data, reasoning, producing a result. BAM puts specialized agents to work (market study, content, visuals, presentations), coordinated by the same strategy.

What is a prompt?

The instruction you give to an AI. A good prompt states the goal, the target and the tone. In BAM, the prompt is only the visible part: your project strategy and memory do the rest. See the template Ready-to-use JOHANNES prompts.

What is an LLM?

A Large Language Model: the AI that understands and produces text, like the one powering JOHANNES and MIKA. Its quality depends mostly on the context you give it; that is the role of the strategic corpus.

What is AEO (or LLM SEO)?

Answer Engine Optimization: structuring your content to be picked up and cited by AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI). Where SEO targets the first page of Google, AEO targets the answer itself. BAM produces AEO-optimized content through its dedicated agent.

What is brand tone?

The recognizable way your brand speaks: register, vocabulary, what it allows itself and what it refuses. BAM formalizes it in your strategy so that every piece of content, whichever agent produces it, speaks with a single voice.

Missing a term?

The glossary grows with the Academy. Meanwhile, MIKA can explain any concept, applied to your own business.
